food is good little guy charging very nice and polite.
My 1st experience was horrible. I ordered the mexican nacho to split with my friend but I don't eat beans or avocado I asked for them on the side. I was rudely told either u can get them on it or pay for it on the side. I asked to speak with the manager she responded with an attitude that's me. I then asked for the owner she stated with a attitude again he's gonna tell you the same thing. The owner finally came and said Rudely "This is my business and I run it the way I want" Long story short they were very rude to me and have no customer service skills. I went back to them today to give the a second chance. I ended up getting a refund because it was hair in my food. They do not wear any gloves or hair nets I saw one worker with a hat on.. I will never visit again!!!!
Best Al Pastor in the city! Absolute perfection, no where else comes close!
The food is good but the view is better.
Great tacos.
Great location, friendly staff.
Average tacos. Margaritas premixed straight from a bottle and taste like it.
We have stopped here numerous times over the years. I can't believe all these horrible reviews! The food is really good, they have never treated me disrespectful, maybe all these people leaving bad reviews should get off their high horses. This isn't a restaurant, custom orders are harder to make and take more time I'm sure. Order the food the way it comes and you'll get your food quicker. We've had tacos, nachos, elotes, chips, drinks, pop... it's all been good and fresh. If you're looking for a quick bite, I'd strongly suggest it! If you want a custom meal with this and that on the side or to change the whole menu to your liking go to a sit down restaurant, this place ain't for you. Make sure you grab an Horchata, they are awesome.
We had great food and exceptional service. What a nice stop for lunch on Northerly Island.
Very flavorful tacos. Very close to shedd aquarium. The line can be quite crowded, especially during Spring Break/Summer Break, so just plan ahead and you should be just fine!
Best tacos in the city, always worth the visit
Extremely frustrating. Waited 40 minutes for my food. Propane went out at noon (something you might check in the morning if you run a restaurant) with accompanying delay. They took my order and gave it orally to the kitchen staff, but never printed it out, so they delivered Order #37 by the time they figured out they had not made Order #31, although I stood by the window. No apology (just "I just got came on so I don't know what happened") when I complained. I tipped when I paid, which was a mistake. Bring your own food when you come to this beach. The Mexican food is better at a thousand other places in Chicago.
Way over priced for terrible food. Definitely not worth it. My tortilla was half dried and hard, try biting into a taco like that without it hurting your teeth. Seriously people listen to all the reviews. You can get better Mexican food and service, for cheaper in other places. Please don't waste your money here. I definitely regret it.
Food is fantastic but tacos are two small fir there price and there can be a bit of a long wait at times. Few times I barely had enough time for my lunch break.
Good elotés, beautiful view
Better than I expected. Tasty tacos.
I’ve had a lot of tacos. These are some of the best tacos.
It didn’t work
Good location and great view of Lake Michigan
Great carne asada burrito, refreshing horchata. Accommodating to requests. Dining with a view.
Great location, nice people. Food is ok. Service is sincere but not sharp.
it's pretty good, but pricey
Perfect place to try the good hotdog in front of the beach
Stopped by here on a sunny Saturday after visiting the nearby "Hamilton Exhibition". There was a line, but it moved right along. Everyone was really Friendly, even though they were busy. We each got a burrito (chicken and steak) along with a drink and a funnel cake. Oh my. Very tasty. One of the best burritos I have had anywhere. Nice views.nthere is an area to sit, if you don't want to use the park or the beach. Recommended. If you have wheels, I did not observe any accessibility issues.
YOOOOOO THE BEST DOGS THE BEST FRIES THE BEST EVERYTHINGmet the owner; really nice guy. suggested some items on the menu, he didn't disappoint.would visit again, and again. plenty of seating, open space. patio.not costly at all.go there.
Had a wedding at the Planetarium. Our wedding group was starving. Luckily we found this hidden gem next door. Bought $150 worth of food on short notice. They were polite, quick, and food was great.
Worst food. Barely warm. A couple of 7 years old kids working ????
Al Pastor was well seasoned and melted in your mouth. Cost 4 bucks which is too much, I'd say $2.75 at the most. The Carne asada was really good too.
Amazing place with great fresh food right off the grill out back. Check this place out and have a conversation with the guy behind the grill.
The place is an authentic family-run destination for Mexican cuisine along Lake Michigan which specialized in fresh, quality food at a reasonable price. This location gets slammed in the reviews by concertgoers who experience long wait times during congested concert nights. Perfect for a family picnic in the sand at 12th street beach, or as I prefer, a pit-stop during your run/bike along the lakefront trail! If you're out during the winter, you can still pick up some quality snacks at the Del Campo Tacos stand right outside Shedd Aquarium.
The staff and the food is discusting, i rather will stay starving than go to this place any more, stay away from here if you wanna stay alive.!!! Disgrace to Mexican food which i love in general
Terrible terrible TERRIBLE PLACE! WAITED A LONG TIME TO GET FOOD AND THEY JUST GAVE IT AWAY TO OTHER PEOPLE TOLD THEM TO HURRY UP BECAUSE THEY WERE STANDING STILL AND A MALE EMPLOYEE GOT OFFENDED BECAUSE OF THAT. WE SAID VANAMOS TO MAKE SURE THEY UNDERSTOOD AND THEY GOT OFFENDED. TOLD US TO GET A REFUND OR TO LEAVE. WE LEFT STARVING...
Best mexican food in Illinois. I love the chicken tacos and eat them every time I visit. This stuff is so good I take it home t eat later too and feed my dogs who I dont take to the restaurant with me because they would eat everyone elses food.
Not made to order. Meat for tacos has been sitting around. Not good.
Stay away!!!!!! You will wait over an hour for bad food and horrible service. Bring in your own food and save yourself the aggregation.
Really good tacos!
Very slow service. Waited 30+ mins (including line wait time) for one Chicago dog. Eventually had to ask if they had skipped my order because someone who ordered well after me received their food (including a hot dog) before I got mine. The employee apologized and the hot dog was good, but the service was as slow the other times I have visited as well, therefore I will never order again due to the wait. Could have easily walked to another stand in the amount of time it took.
Terrible, not worth taking a picture of thier food, all the offer is location. Took a picture of their public bathroom instead.
Right on the beach and good food
Great food and great views
AMAZING place!! Great food, great service! Owner and his family go above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your meal. Great location too!!!! My family and I stop here every time we are downtown !!
Great food and service
I recently went to an event that had a De Campo food truck in it. The staff was extremely rude, they were yelling at the customers to have their order ready, the menus didn’t have what kind of meat they had so customers couldn’t have their orders ready. They also didn’t have any churros like advertised and the walking taco bag had vegetables on the pictures with jalapeños and cheese, I told them I didn’t want any meat in it and got a Dorito bag with just cheese. This was $11 and you got about half of the chips you get in a $1 bag of Doritos. Please don’t go here.
We had the steak tacos, chicken burrito and a chicken quesadilla. The tacos were excellent but overpriced for the food you get. Burrito was a great size for the price but the quesodilla was awful! 8.50 for a single tortilla and a spoonful of cheese and chicken. Lemonade was good, might have to give them another chance in the future but sorta a lukewarm experience.
$4 for one mediocre steak taco. We also had a steak walking taco and a chicken walking taco. Their meats were dry and just aren't that good.
Stood in line for a long time and waited a good bit to get my food after ordering. Girl working the window was a bit rude, but it was busy and warm outside. She was probably having a rough time. Food was decent, nothing special. Location is cool and the view of the lake was awesome. Not a bad spot to grab a bite before a concert at the pavilion. I would go again.
Great find! This little Mexican place is right on the 12th St beach. The food is really good! We got the nachos and I had the Chicken tostada. Yummm! Lily (our waitress) was very helpful. Service was fast. Great experience.
Good food. Thought it wass a little high, but it was good so nbd.
Great location 👍 food and service!
